THE WILLARD INTERCONTINENTAL WASHINGTON D.C. SPLENDID IN EVERY WAY

Our friendship with IHG group started long time ago, when back in Ukraine we became friends with family operating the Intercontinental Hotel in Kiev. Later, for several years when traveled to Europe, we usually stayed at Intercontinental properties in most iconic European cities and every time it was wonderful experience. Today, Im happy to present you without the hesitation the best hotel I have ever stayed so far – the iconic Willard InterContinental Washington D.C. Our short weekend stay at The Willard InterContinental brought to us only the best memories and hotel’s prime location gave us the opportunity to see all at glance. This legendary hotel is surrounded by historical monuments, museums and galleries and is proudly standing just steps away from the White House. Our stay was splendid in every way possible and Willard InterContinental Washington D.C. proudly proved that it is the brightest star in IHG constellation! { HIDEMYCOAT blog by Tanya Litkovska }

ICONIC WILLARD INTERCONTINENTAL

No compromises, only the best, such things surrounds you everywhere once you stepped in to the marvelous and iconic lobby of Willard InterContinental. Gorgeous terrazzo floors, coffered ceilings and Corinthian columns create luxury atmosphere and lobby’s floral arrangement makes this lobby a true showstopper! { HIDEMYCOAT blog by Tanya Litkovska }

Next worth mentioning are the famous Dine&Drink places in Willard InterContinental. We had a chance to attend all three of them! Cafe du Parc was first on our list. It’s an authentic French brasserie, with delicious provence menu to explore and nice terrace, that we enjoyed.

Afternoon Tea in Peacock Alley welcomed us with harp music and vanilla aromas. Rich variety of organic teas, finger sandwiches and fresh decadent pastries will satisfy even the most pampered guests.

Time went by and evening open the curtains of the the historic Round Robin Bar, located on the lobby level of the hotel. Referred as one of the best in D.C., this legendary bar is known for as a usual meeting place for political and social elite. Mark Twain and Charles Dickens used to visit Round Robin Bar as well.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN SUITE

From here story only begins! This time we stayed in Abraham Lincoln Suite, one of the three Federal Suites that Willard has had the pleasure of welcoming guests for 200 years. Rich blue and gold fabrics of this gorgeous suit create a nice ensemble of colors and deliver another layer of sophistication. Suite is very spacious and you literally need to walk for 40 seconds from one end to another, which is very good actually! Abraham Lincoln Suite offers a spacious bedroom, two separate entrances and large dining area seating eight. { HIDEMYCOAT blog by Tanya Litkovska }

SPLENDID IN EVERY WAY EXPERIENCE

Located in the heart of Washington D.C. hotel’s location is super convenient to explore its top locations and attractions. Everything is in walking distance and and literally surrounds the Willard InterContinental. We visited the United States Capitol, housing the U.S. Senate & House of Representatives, Library of Congress, that is world’s biggest library. Walking along the beautiful National mall we saw the Washington Monument, that honors America’s first president and of course Lincoln Memorial – a 19-ft. marble statue that we all saw at least once in iconic Hollywood movies. Last but definitely not least was the White House, official residence and workplace of the President of the United States. { HIDEMYCOAT blog by Tanya Litkovska }
