I’m talking about the city of Newport, which is most famous for its Gilded Age mansions. Also we were lucky to find and stay at a bold boutique style Gilded Hotel. This colorful, with daring design hotel, amazed us with its chic Newport inn interior, inspired by Rococo, Beaux Arts and other popular styles of this decadent era. Our hotel was located in the minutes walking distance from Newport downtown, main Thames street and historic harbour. The hotel’s interior has a nice mix of colors, showing the fun, fame and fashion of an historical era. From the rich amenities side we were impressed by cool looking guest lodge area, with bold decor, secluded patio with lounging spaces. Also, complementary iPad, provided on check-in, was a very cool feature! It was loaded with all the necessary local information for the convenience of the guests and helped us navigate thought the points of interest. OUR SIGNATURE LARK SUITE
Our suite was the largest one in the hotel and featured cool custom decor not found anywhere else at Gilded Hotel. It had a nice plush king bed with super-soft linens and living room with big sofa. Room was very bright and cosy, one side looked at the quiet street and from a living room you can easily spot a free parking with your car, which very convenient.
